Reopening Wednesday 2 June 2021
New Displays

As part of our planned re-opening on 2 June, Steyning Museum will be putting on a number of new displays including a Victory in Europe and Japan exhibition delayed from May of last year due to lockdown. The exhibition centres on extracts from the Mass Observation Diary of a local resident and includes a number of local photos and artefacts (including a Christmas Card on Izal toilet paper!

Thanks to a generous loan from Chanctonbury Lions, we now have a male manikin to display items of military uniform in the museum including this REME uniform being modelled above by Museum volunteer Guy Standen.

A display celebrating local author Julia Donaldson has been set up in our Children's Corner showing colourful bookcovers, soft toy characters, children's drawings of her characters and bunting from one of her stories - come and find out which one!
