STEYNING MUSEUM'S
CHRISTMAS CONCERT
December 2015

Pantocrime!

- A sell out Christmas concert and a great success –
in aid of Steyning Museum

Local Steyning choirs, Cantatrice and Kaleidoscope Singers, under the direction of Zoe Peate, joined forces on Saturday afternoon, 5th December, at the Steyning Centre and put on a thoroughly entertaining, truly original musical show, with a humorous script.

The singing was faultless, as was the panto style acting, telling a tongue in cheek story of a villain, who wanted to close down the Steyning Museum in favour of erecting a replica of the Shard there – so bringing Steyning into the 21st century!! Oh horrors! - what a thought!! However, the villain reckoned without the voice and loyal support of Steyning Museum's community, supporters and volunteers and his dastardly plans were thwarted!

It was wonderful to see and hear the boo and hiss, then cheers from the audience, who participated in true panto style, with Museum supporters and volunteers joining the choirs in waving banners and voicing their protests.

The climax to the show was the villain relenting and joining the Friends of Steyning Museum and volunteers, along with the audience, for tea and a mince pie!

Overall, a delightful, family afternoon's entertainment, which has raised in excess of £1,000 for our local, much loved Steyning Museum. A very big 'Thank You' to all those who bought a ticket and came along to support the Steyning Museum – your support is so much appreciated!

Thanks also go to Cantatrice, Kaleidoscope Singers – and also all the script writers, Barbie Best, Jose Peate, Zoe Peate, Peter Conway and an extra from Nick Hempleman.
