Permanent Exhibition News

"Steyning Night Out"

A new informative display of local amateur dramatics, local film, concerts and Stayning pubs. This permanent display includes a Chequer Inn sign donated by the hotel.

"Children's Corner"

A refurbished display aimed at our younger visitors.

"Steyning Register Office"

We have a new exhibition room featuring Steyning Register Office which served a district extending well beyond the boundaries of the town. This permanent exhibition includes a map that highlights the area which included Hove and parts of Brighton. The Museum receives many requests for family history. The applicants are often under the assumption that their ancestors must have been born in Steyning as the birth, wedding or death is registered there. This is not always the case.

Can You Help?

We have a uniform to show in our next exhibition and need a mannequin (with legs) in order to display it properly. We would appreciate a loan if you have one. It will be needed from late May to late August.
