"In memoriam"

A reflection on the closure by the Grammar School of Brotherhood Hall after over 400 years use as a school. The Hall was originally a Medieval Guild Hall that became a school after the Reformation. The display includes a contribution by our Oral History team who have interviewed former teachers and students.

On display until May 15th.

"Upper Beeding - Salt, Monks, Nuns, Cement"

Aspects of Village Life

This exhibition incudes newly donated items related to the Steyning Scottish Reel Dance Club, the founder of which worked at Beeding Cement Works and lived in Dacre Gardens. Also exhibited are the rarely seen "Naughty Pictures" drawn on the attic wall of Beeding Court by Canadian Troops who were billeted there during WW2.

On display until May 22nd.

The refurbishment of the "Touched by War" exhibit is now complete.

A London Brighton and South Coast Railway sign (recently discovered) has been restored and is now on show. See the museum's August newsletter.
Our new bottle display is also now completed and on show.
